This film marked my second collaboration with Bit Sized Productions’ 48 Hour Film Project team. During the shoot, I took on the role of editing directly on set, wrangling and cutting footage as the cameras rolled in order to maximize our limited time. This approach also provided the opportunity to communicate precise shot ideas to the director, helping to refine and elevate specific cuts in real time. Ultimately, my efforts were recognized with the Best Editing award in our regional competition, and the film proudly went on to be showcased at the prestigious Cannes Short Film Corner.

I had not been part of a 48 Hour Project team in several years, and what an incredible project to jump back into the groove with. It was truly rewarding to cut the film on set while they were still shooting, which helped minimize wait times and keep everything moving efficiently on an already tight schedule. Our collaborative effort paid off, as we went on to win our local competition, and then had the honor of advancing to Filmapalooza, showcasing our work on a larger stage.

“See You” was never intended for public release. It began as a personal script I wrote, serving as a therapeutic outlet during a particularly challenging chapter in my life. Wanting to channel my emotions constructively, I asked a few close friends to help me bring the story to life, simply to express what I was going through. Once the project was completed, I wrestled with the idea of sharing it more broadly, but ultimately felt compelled to honor the dedication and hard work my friends had invested. When I finally did release it, the response was profoundly overwhelming—the view count on Vimeo initially far surpassed the modest numbers it has now on its re-release on YouTube. This unexpected reception not only validated the work but also marked the beginning of my recognition and first accolades as a filmmaker.

Almost every one of my films delves into some deeper emotional or psychological element, and none fits that mold more perfectly than “Alone.” This film explores the complex mental, physical, and emotional impacts of depression, showing how these aspects can intertwine and envelop a person in a profound way. Creating this film also gave me the opportunity to expand my work internationally, as I traveled to Sydney, Australia, where I was honored to receive the Extra Mile Award at the Sydney Indie Film Festival.
