This video is the culmination of several years of careful planning, iterative designing, and countless exchanges refining the idea for a club rebrand. I am proud not only of the video itself (which contains a few moments where the compositing definitely needs redone), but also of the brand I helped design and bring to life. Watching this piece brings me to the verge of tears, as it calls to mind the long hours, relentless effort, and collaborative hustle over the years that converged at this moment. It stands as one of my favorite and most meaningful works in my career.

Inside the Box grew into our weekly flagship team content, delivering timely updates on all things Riverhounds. What began in 2015 as brief coach interviews evolved significantly over the years into a fully sponsored segment — a polished, reliable feature that regularly showcased on-air talent such as Suzie Cool in this selected piece.

Being a smaller-budget team in a lower-division professional league, you learn to “fake it ’til you make it,” and one thing I was determined to do was produce full postgame press conferences that fans could watch in their entirety—just like they can with the higher-level leagues. To make that happen, I hung a simple backdrop in our suite area, used our wireless microphone through the suite speakers for clear sound, and simultaneously recorded audio directly into our camera. At the time I didn’t know After Effects, so I built multiple templates in Photoshop and “animated” them inside Premiere. The result, I felt, added a layer of legitimacy to our coverage, and that approach—imperfect but effective—has continued to influence what the club produces even now.

Before he was a USL Championship Final–winning manager, Rob Vincent was coming off a stellar 18‑goal season and preparing to head to D.C. United in MLS. It was a pleasure to pull together some of Rob’s best moments from over the years and send him on to the next step in his career with genuine love and pride.

Fresh off their third World Cup win, the U.S. Women’s National Team traveled to Pittsburgh as part of their national tour. As the hometown club, we were granted behind-the-scenes access to the team during training and chose to create a short insider piece that highlighted our ongoing connection with U.S. Soccer.

The Director of Communications, and the man who hired me back in 2015, Ian Thomson, had a clear vision to produce long-form interviews with players to really explore who these guys were on match day. This episode with Rob Vincent was one both of us felt proud of at the time, and it’s one I still look back on fondly.
