Post Match Press Conference: vs Rochester 9-16-15

Being a smaller-budget team in a lower-division professional league, you learn to “fake it ’til you make it,” and one thing I was determined to do was produce full postgame press conferences that fans could watch in their entirety—just like they can with the higher-level leagues. To make that happen, I hung a simple backdrop in our suite area, used our wireless microphone through the suite speakers for clear sound, and simultaneously recorded audio directly into our camera. At the time I didn’t know After Effects, so I built multiple templates in Photoshop and “animated” them inside Premiere. The result, I felt, added a layer of legitimacy to our coverage, and that approach—imperfect but effective—has continued to influence what the club produces even now.
